Matcha has moved from being a niche product to a mainstream drink. Developed in Japan from Chinese tea traditions, it is at the heart of Japanese tea culture and is now enjoyed all over South Africa. Matcha itself is a finely ground powder made from shade-dried green tea leaves (Camellia sinensis). It is particularly rich in antioxidants. This kit gives you everything you need to enjoy your own Matcha drinks - simply whisk your Matcha powder with hot water until frothy. The bowl and the whisk stand are crafted out of kiln-fired ceramic, finished with a gloss glaze. The bowl has an interesting ridged effect in its design. The colours are a combination of moss green, tree-bark brown, and a hint of turquoise blue. Please note that the pottery is hand-worked, so every set has its own variations of pattern and colour hue. The whisk and the spoon ladle are made out of bamboo.
